The gambling TV show One Will Win was a quiz show on German television that was first broadcast in January 1964 under the moderation of Hans-Joachim Kulenkampff. Kulenkampff hosted the show for 89 episodes. One Will Win ran until 1987 and is one of the most popular German TV shows of all time. Until 1983, in Germany there were only the channels ARD, ZDF and the regional third program in black and white. One Will Win achieved ratings of up to 90%, making it one of the most watched TV shows on television.

One Will Win is made up of different game rounds. In the preliminary round, two candidates played against each other in a total of three rounds. The disciplines included knowledge, skill and sporting competitions. The respective winner of a duel then qualified for the semi-finals of the show.

In the semifinals, two players formed a team and played against two other candidates. The winning team then moved on to the final, where the two remaining players competed against each other for victory. Each player was asked a total of five quiz questions in the final. In March 2014 there was a new edition of the show in Germany hosted byKachelmann and Pilawa on ARD. However, the show was unable to build on its previous successes, so it only lasted four broadcasts.

Who will become a millionaire?
Who Wants to Be a Millionaire is one of the most popular quiz shows on German television. The show has been running for over 25 years on the TV channel RTL and is moderated by Günther Jauch. The first episode of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? aired on September 3, 1999. The show is based on the show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, which is shown in over 100 different countries worldwide.

The candidates have the chance to win 1 million euros if they answer all of Günther Jauch’s questions correctly. Participants must qualify before the main round. Ten players have to put four terms in the correct order. The player who can solve the problem correctly the fastest will play for 1 million euros with Jauch. To do this, the candidate must answer 15 questions correctly. Each question is given four possible answers, of which only one is correct.

The player also has three jokers at his disposal. With the 50:50 joker, two out of four given answers are deleted. The telephone joker gives the player the opportunity to call a friend and ask them the question. The candidate must previously specify three people from whom they can choose for their call. There is also the audience joker. All viewers in the studio vote on the correct answer to a question. The player then sees what percentage of players chose which answer option.

The amount of money the player can win increases from question to question. But the level of difficulty also becomes significantly more demanding. If the answer is wrong, the candidate is eliminated from the show and loses their winnings. However, there are safety zones for prize amounts of 1,000 euros and 32,000 euros. If the player has already reached these amounts, he cannot fall below them even if he answers incorrectly. The candidate also has the opportunity to leave the show at any time and take the amount earned up to that point as a prize.
